Meaningful work is a basic human right and a pathway to happiness and at CHSS we find meaning in supporting our clients to achieve their dreams.
Katrina Lowe (Kat) has been dreaming of working with children for many years. After completing her first volunteer placement with a local playgroup in Woolgoolga, Kat secured a volunteer work placement with Country Cubs Preschool and Long Day Care in Coramba.
On her first day Kat spent her time learning all the children’s names and supervising the playdough table.
We are all very proud of Kat and look forward to more tales from preschool as Kat builds her skills over the next few months.
We would also like to congratulate Country Cubs for demonstrating a strong commitment to workplace diversity and community enrichment.
Everyone involved is excited by the opportunities for social change that a placement like Kat’s could bring about. Just imagine what the world would be like if every kid had the opportunity to be cared for by a person with disability when they were little!
“Everyone has been made for some particular work, and the desire for that work has been put in every heart.” – Rumi
